About the spot

Afife is an exposed Atlantic wave spot for independent riders with surf experience. The long sandy beach offers space depending on the tide, but rocks in the water and at the northern end restrict usable areas. There is no sheltered flat-water basin.

Swell, beach currents and the actual wind angle determine whether a session is workable. A small-wave day does not establish conditions for the next day. This is not a general recommendation for first water starts or riders still learning to stay upwind.

Access & local notes

Inspect the beach at the current tide before rigging; locate rocks and a clear exit. Keep swimming areas clear and ask locally if the launch area is uncertain.
