About the spot

Barra / Kitebeach is on the Atlantic side near Aveiro. It is an exposed wave beach, rather than the flat water of Ria de Aveiro. The summer Nortada can provide kite conditions, while swell and beach currents determine the difficulty.

A kite area at Posto 3 is historically documented, but that earlier authorisation does not establish today's zoning. Independent sessions require reliable upwind riding and surf experience. The northern harbour entrance, with its breakwaters and shipping, is separate from the beach riding area.

Access & local notes

Confirm the currently permitted launch with a local school or the harbour authority. Keep swimming areas, breakwaters and the harbour approach clear; the old Posto 3 notice is not a current permit.
