About the spot

Ostend Sailing's watersports beach is at Halvemaandijk on Oosteroever, east of the harbour entrance. The breakwater, tide and incoming waves can produce demanding conditions. The harbour is a firm boundary rather than a sheltered training area.

Independent riders need dependable upwind riding and self-rescue; beginners should enter only with appropriate instruction or supervision arranged. Access the designated beach section by Phare East. Maintain clearance from the breakwater and shipping, keep the entry corridor free and follow current club and lifeguard instructions.
