About the spot

A designated watersports section lies between Sint-André and Oostduinkerke-Centrum, in front of the dunes. Use established beach paths; nearby IJslandplein provides an access landmark. Tidal sandbanks change the depth, while wind and breaking waves determine how demanding the return becomes.

This is primarily a venue for independent North Sea riders. Shorebreak/surfschool.be at IJslandplein should not be assumed to provide kite lessons or kite rescue simply because it offers other watersports. Check the actual launch boundaries and leave space around swimmers, other surfers and protected dunes.
