About the spot

De Kwinte is on Sint-Laureins beach at the western edge of Westende-Bad. Since 2026 the club has operated its own kite school with private, paired and refresher instruction. Independent sessions require control around North Sea surf, currents and groynes; high water reduces launch space.

The official plan shows the club section and a separate kite section farther west towards Lombardsijde, with other uses and buffer areas between them. This does not open central Middelkerke beach to launching. Confirm the usable entry and access to club services locally.
