About the spot

Cabedelo, south of the Lima river mouth, is an established kite beach with local schools. The summer Nortada from north to northwest can become strong. Waves are often smaller near the harbour breakwater, while farther out and along the beach the surf becomes more exposed.

The calmer corner does not make Cabedelo a uniformly flat lagoon. Beginners can take supervised lessons in suitable conditions; independent riders need upwind ability and surf control. Keep clear of harbour traffic, the breakwater and currents.
