About the spot
Carcavelos is a busy urban and surfing beach on the Cascais coast. Kiting mainly depends on suitable southerly, southwesterly or westerly conditions; winter fronts can also bring powerful waves. Summer Nortada conditions differ from Guincho and may be offshore or gusty here.
The spot is for experienced riders. Surf traffic, swimmers, shoreline structures and currents limit recovery space. Even a suitable wind direction cannot make a crowded beach workable. Carcavelos is not an unrestricted, all-season beginner venue.
Access & local notes
During the bathing season, the Cascais notice generally requires 300 m clearance from the waterline, with separate provisions for immediate launching and landing. Check current zones and other operating limits before rigging.
