About the spot

Praia do Carvalhal is an exposed sandy wave beach on the Alentejo coast. The spot guide describes kite use, but also a Nortada that is often weaker than farther north. A regional forecast therefore does not guarantee sufficient wind at the beach.

Southwesterly weather patterns can bring more wind along with more demanding seas. The spot remains a conditional option for experienced riders with surf control. It is neither a reliably flat teaching area nor a recommendation to seek out powerful fronts.
