About the spot

Praia da Comporta is a long sandy beach on the open Atlantic side, not a lagoon spot. Kite use is described, with chop and waves depending on swell. Its spacious appearance says little about the actual clear launch area among swimmers.

Independent sessions require upwind control, reliable launching and landing, and surf experience. Wind strength and a workable angle must be checked at the beach. This entry does not promise a daily Nortada or consistently easy beginner conditions.
