About the spot

Costa de Lavos is an exposed wave beach south of Figueira da Foz. Northwesterly conditions can support kiting; swell and beach currents also determine the difficulty. Breakwaters and traditional beach fishing restrict usable space.

The local Clube de Kitesurf da Figueira da Foz uses the southern beach among its teaching locations, depending on conditions. This does not imply sheltered beginner water everywhere. Independent sessions require surf experience, and the actual teaching location may change with the wind and sea.
