About the spot

This entry describes the lagoon side of Costa Nova on the Canal de Mira. The map point is near the southern watersports area by Riactiva; the Atlantic beach with the same name is a different spot. Inside, flat water and chop are possible, but depth is not uniform.

Northerly wind can run along the channel. Tides change sandbanks, channels and current; boats and harbour areas need clearance. Beginners should use supervised teaching areas. Elsewhere, limited launches and nearby navigation routes require independent local knowledge.
