About the spot

Kugelbake lies where the Elbe estuary meets the North Sea. Tidal shallows front the beach, with currents and heavy shipping farther out. Clear orientation and generous channel clearance are essential.

The legal kite zone is available from three hours before to three hours after high tide. Avoid groynes, structures and swimming areas. A nearby beach does not remove the need to plan for ebbing water or weakening wind.
