About the spot

Harlesiel has a legally designated kite area on the flats beside the harbour coast. Suitable tides provide shallower riding; the marker shows the approximate venue and does not replace launch guidance.

Use is limited to three and a half hours either side of high tide. Avoid harbour approaches and bathing areas. Local schools know the current rigging area and channels that can complicate the ebb-tide return.

Extensive experience with difficult launches, surf, currents or obstacles is required. Little room for riding or judgement errors.
Skill level: Pro
An exceptionally demanding specialist spot for pro-level riders. Extreme spot hazards require precise control, local knowledge and agreed safety support.
