About the spot

Kühlungsborn’s sports beach lies at Anglersteig. Westerly through northeasterly winds offer Baltic wave riding, becoming demanding in strong wind. The shallows are not a sheltered practice area.

During the bathing season, kiting is restricted to the designated section. Groynes line much of the coast and remain hazards when submerged. Reliable upwind riding, controlled launches and distance from swimmers matter more than the apparent beach width.
