About the spot

Laboe has extensive shallows at the mouth of Kiel Fjord. In suitable wind, sandbanks and sheltered sections support lessons and freeriding. Depth, chop and the influence of shipping increase farther out.

Southeast wind is offshore and unsuitable for unsupported riding. Separate the current kite zone from busy swimming areas. Keep shore paths and the launch corridor clear and check manoeuvring depth at low water.
