About the spot

The Januskopf north beach is Norderney’s exposed wave venue. Banks, tide and wind shape the surf, with potentially demanding shorebreak. Experienced riders encounter very different conditions from the sheltered Wadden side.

The legal north-beach kite area opens three hours after sunrise. Use only designated sports sections and avoid bathing and protected areas. Confirm current beach rules with the local centre; island tips and shipping channels are not alternative riding areas.
