About the spot

Hörnum’s eastern side offers more sheltered tidal water than the west coast. The entry lies near the island’s southern end, where tide and current remain decisive. Shallow water does not guarantee an easy return.

The legal Sylt-Hörnum kite window is three hours before to three hours after low tide, not high tide. Confirm the launch and boundaries with the centre and avoid harbour traffic and the island tip.
