A surf and kite school operates at Karlshagen’s Baltic sports beach. Sandbanks and shallower nearshore water support supervised entry in moderate weather, while stronger onshore wind brings surf.

The school changes venues with the wind, so a booked course may take place elsewhere. Independent riders must follow the current watersports corridor and give swimmers wide clearance. Breaking waves and busy beaches are unsuitable for initial solo attempts.
