About the spot

A Lanzada is an extensive Atlantic beach between Sanxenxo and O Grove. Southerly through westerly winds can combine with waves, and the spot is used for more demanding sessions outside high summer. Its exposed setting differs markedly from the sheltered estuaries.

Large surf, currents and storm winds require wave experience. Reassess moderate days individually rather than applying the winter profile automatically. Beginners should avoid unsupported open-water launches. The broad sandy beach remains shared with swimmers and other water users.
