About the spot
Piedra Playa south of El Cotillo is an exposed Atlantic beach for wave riding and experienced freeriding. This entry means Playa del Castillo, not the northern swimming coves and lagoons. Dark rocks and cliffs constrain possible entries and exits.
Shorebreak can become powerful, especially with larger Atlantic swell. Clear sand on land therefore says little about difficulty on the water. Ride only with manageable waves and a safe wind angle. Beginners should not make independent attempts; the varied shoreline leaves the general wind rating unverified.
Access & local notes
Choose a clear sandy entry on the wave beach and inspect rocks. The northern swimming lagoons are not covered by this listing.
