About the spot

El Arbeyal is a smaller bay in western Gijón, sheltered by harbour structures. Local sources identify northerly through easterly winds as suitable. Water can be considerably calmer than at the exposed wave beaches, helping freeride progression.

This confined bay remains a busy city beach. Summer use may depend on controlled entry and exit, requiring dependable upwind ability. Flat water does not make a narrow access route beginner-friendly. Teaching is sensible only with adequate space and explicit permission.
