About the spot
Vargas on Gran Canaria's east coast is an established wind and wave spot. The official description lists north, northeast and southwest as usable wind sectors. Strong trade-wind days demand substantially more than moderate freeriding conditions.
Stony sections, surf and currents require a carefully selected entry. Independent riders should have reliable upwind and wave skills. Beginners need supervision and suitably small conditions rather than relying on a broad tourism suitability claim. Assess available launch space and water depth at the actual tide.
Access & local notes
Check a clear entry and current sports zones. Account for stones, shorebreak and other riders; proximity to the beach does not guarantee assistance.
