About the spot
Famara is Lanzarote's large Atlantic spot beneath high cliffs. Northeast trades can work, but wind angle and terrain shelter affect conditions. A local school places the kite section beyond the Famara bungalows, rather than on the busy village beach.
Small waves can support lessons; larger swell, currents and gusty wind demand experience. Higher tides reduce clear beach space. Kiting, surfing and swimming must remain separated. A school may cancel for an unsuitable wind angle even when the general forecast shows enough knots.
Access & local notes
Confirm the current kite zone beyond the bungalows with the school. Check tide and surf, and respect protected dunes.
