About the spot
Jameos del Agua is an expert wave spot on Lanzarote's northeast coast below the visitor centre. Northeast wind can combine with fast, powerful left-hand waves. The rocky coast has much more difficult access than Famara's sandy beach.
Reef knowledge, dependable wave riding and realistic self-rescue are essential. High water can further complicate the rocky entry. It is unsuitable for beginners or freeriders without wave experience. This entry covers the coast at Jameos, not Playa de La Garita farther south in Arrieta.
Access & local notes
Check current road access and the rocky entry/exit locally. Do not assume a rescue station; skip the session if the return is uncertain.
