About the spot

El Puntal occupies the end of Laredo's long sand spit between the open coast and Santoña Bay. Tourism information confirms kitesurfing and identifies northeast wind as a local option. The two sides of the spit have different wind angles and water conditions.

Shelter can help freeriding, but estuary currents and boat traffic require attention. This marker does not authorise arbitrary switching between shores. Beginners should use a local school; independent riders need separation, sufficient depth and a reliable return to the designated launch.
