About the spot

Area Maior at Louro is the exposed Atlantic beach southwest of Muros. An established watersports school offers kitesurfing here, confirming actual use. It remains a wave beach and must not be confused with the lagoon behind the dunes.

Small surf can permit supervised lessons; larger swell and currents require experienced riders. Assess the launch, wind angle and return route on the day. Shelter from the land can vary locally. No general suitable wind direction is assigned without clear launch-specific confirmation.
