About the spot

At the mouth of the Caño de Sancti Petri, sheltered inner water meets Atlantic surf. Local operators use different launches; Punta del Boquerón is across the channel on the San Fernando side. The local spot guide favours west, southwest and south winds.

Sandbanks and strong tidal flow shape the area. A smooth surface does not make the navigation straightforward. Independent riders need dependable upwind skills and estuary experience; beginners should select a suitable area with a school. Easterly wind is not a generally safe alternative.

Access & local notes

The marker shows the Chiclana side. Confirm seasonal access, the launch corridor and any use of the opposite Boquerón side locally; avoid harbour and conservation areas.
