About the spot
El Cabezo northeast of El Médano is a demanding wave spot over volcanic ground. Northerly to northeasterly trade wind can create powerful conditions. Rocks, reef and currents distinguish it fundamentally from the sandier teaching area in Médano Bay.
The official spot description addresses experts. Higher water covers some obstacles without removing the risk; low tide exposes additional rocks. Dependable wave riding, self-rescue and launch knowledge are essential. Leave clear separation from windsurfers and any competition areas.
Access & local notes
Check reef exposure, tide and local zones before launching. This is not a beginner fallback when El Médano becomes too demanding.
