About the spot

La Tejita lies west of Montaña Roja and is a documented kite spot with a different wind angle from El Médano. The usual northeast trade can arrive cross-offshore. A broad beach therefore does not make it an automatically safe alternative to Médano Bay.

The area is for experienced riders able to assess wind shelter, surf and recovery options. Offshore sessions are unsuitable for independent beginners. No broadly suitable wind direction is assigned because alternatives depend on the precise section. Protected land and swimming activity further constrain launching space.

Access & local notes

Check current permission and the beach launch zone. Do not ride offshore without confirmed rescue; respect the Montaña Roja protected area.
