About the spot

Bray-Dunes lies beside the Belgian border on a broad, gently shelving North Sea beach. Northeast wind can build waves, while the tide and sandbanks determine how smooth the nearshore water remains. The useful wind sector extends through north towards west.

The rising tide changes the distance to the seafront considerably. Keep swimming areas clear even where nearby sand looks spacious. Southerly components can take riders offshore; proximity to De Panne does not make an unplanned long-distance crossing advisable.

Access & local notes

Check the summer beach layout and return before the tide removes the launch space.
