About the spot

Caroual is the broad sandy beach southwest of Erquy. Westerly winds allow freeriding and wave sessions, with swell making conditions substantially more demanding. Surrounding headlands affect the airflow, so assess the wind at the actual launch.

The northern end towards town includes the swimming area; kiters use the authorised opposite section. High tide reduces launching space. Independent riders need a controlled return through chop and surf, while beginners require suitable teaching conditions.
