About the spot
Châtelaillon has a long town beach in front of shallow foreshore that becomes muddy at low tide. Kite schools choose sessions around wind and water level. The spot requires a suitable tide and does not offer the open Atlantic waves of the outer island coasts.
The tourist office lists a 15 June–15 September restriction allowing practice only from 19:00 outside the swimming area. A session must also fit daylight and tide. Confirm current rules and authorised entry locally, with clearance from beach users, sea defences and boat routes.
