About the spot

Petite Mer lies behind the Gâvres land strip and fills with the tide. Shallow water develops around high tide, while much of the basin dries at low water. Its sheltered surface does not make the launch straightforward for beginners.

The roadside launch is small and especially restricted at high water. Bird protection areas also have seasonal closures. Confirm the currently authorised launch, navigable section and required tide with the local association before travelling. Do not plan an independent launch without that briefing.
