About the spot

Petit-Fort-Philippe offers two different settings: open sea outside and a temporary shallow “Petite Mer” behind the sandbanks. This sheltered area only fills with a suitable high tide and tidal range; it is not a permanent beginner lagoon.

Appropriate northerly winds allow freeriding and supervised learning on the calmer sections. Waves increase towards the open sea. The navigation channel, swimming areas and shifting banks constrain the available space. Establish where sufficient depth will remain as the water falls.
