About the spot
Hirel lies on the very shallow shore of Mont-Saint-Michel Bay. Water kiting mainly becomes relevant around high tide; the sea retreats a long way at low water. The pin marks the area off Rue du Bord de Mer, rather than a permanently filled lagoon.
Land sailing and other beach activities share the extensive shore. Mud, channels and changing water depth require careful tidal planning. Confirm the wind and clear launching space locally. The site is unsuitable as an unsupervised beginner choice without a local briefing.
Access & local notes
Confirm the high-water window and wind locally; avoid land sailors, channels and protected areas.
