About the spot

Kiting on Hourtin Lake is restricted to a defined area accessed from Hourtin-Port or Lachanau. This entry marks the smaller, more natural Lachanau access. Fresh water allows freeriding without ocean swell, although stronger wind creates chop.

Schools use Lachanau heavily. The launch can be wet or muddy; yellow buoys define boundaries and hunting hides create obstacles. Do not rig on the small swimming beach or block emergency access. Beginners and families should ask about the more suitable Hourtin-Port alternative.
