La Faute-sur-Mer combines Atlantic beaches with the Lay estuary near Pointe d’Arçay. Schools select an appropriate area for the weather. The sheltered side can provide flatter water, while the sea-facing coast remains exposed to surf.

The estuary has strong tidal currents, and the point and neighbouring areas have nature and access restrictions. The pin does not authorise use of the entire peninsula. Agree the teaching location and recovery with the operator. Independent riders need precise knowledge of current, permitted launch and return route.
