About the spot
Le Letty near Bénodet combines the Mer Blanche tidal lagoon with an outer sea-facing beach. The lagoon's familiar flat sections only exist with sufficient water. Suitable wind therefore also depends on which side is being used.
The ebb produces current at the outlet, while banks, channels and rocks alter the return route. Walking to the outer beach at low tide requires a plan for returning later. Independent riders need local knowledge; learners should have a school select the entry and tidal window.
Access & local notes
Assess the lagoon and sea-facing beach separately; establish the ebb-current and return plan.
