About the spot

Treffort Nord is a designated kite zone on the Monteynard reservoir. The familiar northerly thermal can provide afternoon freeriding. Water becomes deep close to shore; grass, stones and limited launch space differ from a broad sandy beach.

Use only allocated kite areas and keep clear of trees, jetty and visitors. Passenger boats have priority. Southerly weather is substantially gustier and is not a simple thermal alternative. Independent riders need deep-water self-rescue skills and a return before the breeze fades.
