About the spot

Piantarella lies east of Bonifacio facing the islands of the southern strait. The local school identifies northeast to east as suitable winds. Sandbanks provide shallower water, with depth particularly important for foils.

The school considers July and August impractical because of visitor density and lack of launch space. Westerly wind is technical and disturbed. Outside peak season, boats, swimmers and shoreline obstacles still matter. Turquoise lagoon water does not establish a straightforward beginner launch.
