About the spot

Les Sables Blancs is on the sheltered side of the peninsula in Quiberon Bay. The local school uses easterly wind here as an alternative to Erdeven's west-facing beaches. Suitable water levels provide shallow freeriding and teaching sections.

Oyster installations with partly hidden posts, shells and tidal current constrain the area. The protected Baie de Plouharnel is closed to kiting from 1 November to 31 March; otherwise riding there is restricted to around high water without trampling seagrass. Check the designated beach access and local zones. Beginners need instruction; avoid swimming areas, moorings and nesting habitat.

Avoid oyster farms; observe the protected bay’s 1 Nov–31 Mar closure and high-water rule. Check the local launch zone.
