About the spot

The former seaplane base on the southern shore of Étang de Salses is an established northwest Tramontane spot. Unlike many sea beaches, this shore faces into the lagoon towards that wind. Strong conditions still generate considerable chop.

The launch lies near parking and remnants of the former installations. Keep adequate clearance from vehicles and fixed obstacles. A supposedly weaker forecast than Leucate is not a safety guarantee: assess actual gusts and current access. Beginners need supervision and a moderate day.
