About the spot
Le Sillon combines a long town beach with a large tidal range. Westerly through northeasterly winds reach the bay, and waves develop towards Rochebonne. Lower water leaves substantially more sand for rigging than high tide.
The seawall and prominent wooden breakwaters are serious obstacles. Summer launching is confined to a marked area that closes when the tide leaves insufficient space. Reliable upwind control and a planned return matter more than the beach's apparent size. Beginners should use instruction.

Check the summer zone and minimum beach width with Emeraude Kite; keep clear of breakwaters and the seawall.
