About the spot
Sainte-Barbe is an established wave spot on Plouharnel's Atlantic side. Southerly through northwesterly winds reach its sandy beach; swell, wind strength and tide determine whether conditions allow moderate freeriding or demanding surf. Rip currents can complicate the return.
The local PIKC identifies the seasonal kite zone between posts 25 and 26, about 300 metres right of the main access. Follow current signs and swimming boundaries. Outside designated kite sections, maintain the prescribed distance from shore. Beginners should use a school in small waves; strong shorebreak and powerful onshore wind are not learning conditions.
