About the spot

Crots is the established kite access in the eastern part of the Serre-Ponçon reservoir. Afternoon thermal wind can provide good freeriding. A full lake leaves a relatively small rigging lawn, with a section reserved for the local school.

Reservoir level substantially changes entry, shoreline stones and launching space. Sailors, windsurfers and boats share the water. Thunderstorms can rapidly transform this mountain setting, so a calm morning does not guarantee afternoon conditions. Independent riders need controlled launching and a return before the breeze fades.
