About the spot

Cloughey is a southeast-facing sandy bay on the Ards peninsula. A stone barrier shelters parts of the bay, while weed and a submerged reef affect access.

Before a first session, confirm wind, tide and the safe exit with local riders. A neighbouring bay can already have a substantially different wind angle.

Access & local notes

Mid tide can be more practical than full low water. High-water launches are tight and unsuitable for independent beginners.
