Bouka is south of Messini on the Gulf of Kalamata. Summer southerly thermals can bring onshore afternoon wind. The sandy beach leads to deeper open water with chop and small waves rather than an evenly shallow training lagoon.

Shore power lines, vegetation, swimmers and the harbour breakwater limit suitable launch space. Inspect today's clear section instead of treating an old beach-bar name as a launch instruction. Riders need control at an onshore beach; beginners require suitable supervision. This is separate from Bouka near Preveza.
