About the spot
The narrow spit east of Patras offers smooth water on one side and chop on the other, depending on the wind. Westerly and easterly flows are affected by the strait, and the inviting flat-water side can be offshore. Experienced freestylers value the spot; some instruction uses boat support.
Water level and surges can greatly reduce or submerge the sandbar, removing rigging and landing space. Avoid launching among active lines and arrange real rescue cover before using the offshore side. Drepano at Raches is a different venue.
Access & local notes
Launch only when enough of the spit is clear; offshore sessions require arranged boat cover and reliable self-rescue.
