About the spot

At the eastern end of long Amoudara beach, Xeropotamos west of Heraklion hosts iKiTe's organised kite area. Northerly wind brings chop and waves; the sandy shore does not lead everywhere into obstacle-free standing-depth water. The local club provides kite lessons, with recent course reports confirming activity.

Check the actual entry with the club rather than rigging anywhere along hotel beaches. Reef patches, surf and bathing zones determine usable space. Arrange tuition and available support beforehand. This marker combines Amoudara with the older directory name Heraklion Kite Beach at this entry.
