About the spot

Falasarna lies on Crete's exposed west coast. Suitable south to southwesterly weather can deliver developed waves, particularly outside the peak summer bathing season. Powerful shorebreak, rocks in the water and variable wind require sound spot assessment.

The main beach is not an easy Meltemi alternative in gusty summer wind coming off the land. Instruction makes sense only by arrangement in suitable conditions. Confirm the kite section, swimming activity and safe return with a local operator; older harbour-launch advice is not current clearance.
